Committee Purpose

The Committee is established to foster a collaborative relationship between the Texas State University Police Department and the San Marcos campus community. The Committee will provide recommendations on policies, procedures, and initatives related to campus safety, policing, and parking.

Locate blue light emergency phones, accessible pathways, and parking zones across campus.

TXState Alerts

The TXState Alert system, managed by UPD, notifies members of the university community about emergency situations, including hazardous weather.

Safe Walk Initiative

The Campus Safety Committee holds bi-annual "Safety Walks" where students, faculty, and UPD walk through campus after sunset to identify areas needing better lighting or landscaping maintenance.
