Staff Member, Officer Recognized for Customer Service

Service to the Bobcat Community is a passion for the team at UPD — Nancy Arnwine and Lt. Rodrigo Manzanares stand out among so many dedicated professionals.

University Police Department team members, Nancy Arnwine, evidence technician, and Lt. Rodrigo Manzanares, patrol lieutenant, are among the seven recipients of the 2021 Finance and Support Services Customer Service Award.

"It is an honor to work with many team members who focus their energy and passion toward serving this community. Lt. Manzanares and Ms. Arnwine stand out," said Interim Chief James B. Dixon.

Since her assignment as the evidence technician, Arnwine has increased efficiencies in the evidence room and works tirelessly to reduce backlogs. Her service to the team is instrumental in creating a more professional and welcoming environment.

"Ms. Arnwine is a professional with the expertise and skill to tackle any opportunity to improve the University Police Department. Her tenacious energy toward customer service has transformed the evidence room into an efficient machine that effectively serves the officers of UPD," said Dixon. 

As the patrol lieutenant, Manzanares supervises more than 25 patrol officers. He sets the example by exhibiting compassionate customer service in listening and responding to student needs. He models leadership that resonates with UPD patrol officer's and leads to positive engagement, with the Bobcat Community.

"Lt. Manzanares is excellent at leading his officers to engage in a calm demeanor and always show respect with a humble attitude, which allows the community to feel safe and comfortable sharing information and ideas," said Dixon.
