Texas State University Police Department Presents: Specialized Threat Assessment Training

Join us on February 18 and 19, 2026, for an intensive one-and-a-half-day training session featuring Dr. Stephen White, co-developer of the WAVR-21 V3. This expert-led course provides advanced instruction on managing workplace and campus threat assessments. Participants will gain a deep understanding of violence risk principles and acquire proactive, evidence-based strategies for navigating complex safety challenges.

The Modern Imperative for Threat Assessment

In today’s complex professional and academic environments, identifying potential risks before they escalate is a critical responsibility. Traditional security measures alone are no longer sufficient; modern organizations require an evidence-based, multi-disciplinary approach to understand and intercept the pathway to violence.

As part of our commitment to regional safety, the Texas State University Police Department is proud to host this premier training, an $800 value offered at no registration cost to our community safety partners. We invite Law Enforcement, Behavioral Threat Assessment Group (BTAG) members, and safety leads across ISDs and private industry to take advantage of this exclusive professional development opportunity.

This 1.5-day intensive program equips leadership, security, and Human Resources teams with the WAVR-21 V3, the industry-standard tool for risk assessment and management. Participants will master the 21 key risk factors using the latest V3 methodology to enhance institutional safety and proactive case management.
