The Code Maroon Rides program is a partnership between the Texas State University Police Department (UPD) and Student Government to provide urgent rides for students who feel unsafe. This service ensures your safety when you need to get home from parties, events, or other venues.
A 24/7 Emergency Service for TXST Students
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Service Coverage
- Rides are provided to and from anywhere within the city limits of San Marcos, Texas.
- Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis by the UPD watch commander.
How to Request a Ride:
Call UPD Dispatch
When you call, the dispatcher will:
- Keep you on the phone until a UPD staff member arrives.
- Collect your full name, current location, destination, and a brief reason for the request.
The staff members who provide this service include:
- Police Officers
- Public Safety Officers
- Other on-duty UPD Personnel
