Co-directed by UPD and TSUSG, this student-run program aligns with UPD's commitment to Community Policing and Crime Prevention. By employing Texas State students, the program enhances campus security and creates opportunities for crime prevention. Student staff are the friendly, courteous, and prompt face of Student Safe Rides, living up to the motto, “Students Protecting Students.”

Safe Ride Home: Service Guidelines
Our mission is to provide students with a secure, reliable way to navigate campus and surrounding areas after dark. To help us keep our service efficient and safe for everyone, please adhere to the following policies:
- Identification Required: All students must present a valid Bobcat Card to the driver upon pickup.
- Safety First: Seatbelts are mandatory. All passengers must remain buckled for the duration of the trip.
- Prompt Departures: To keep wait times low for others, please be ready and present at your pickup location when the vehicle arrives.
- Final Call: The last request for a ride must be submitted at least 30 minutes prior to the end of service.
- Exclusions: Please note that this service is for standard transit only; rides are not provided for special events or large-scale campus functions.
Service Availability & Weather
Your safety is our top priority—and that includes the safety of our drivers. Ride services may be temporarily suspended without prior notice due to severe weather, hazardous road conditions, or other unforeseen operational constraints.

Tuesday: 8pm - 2am
Wednesday: 8pm - 2am
Thursday: 8pm - 3am
Friday: 8pm - 3am
Saturday: 8pm - 3am
Sunday: 8pm - 12am
On-Campus Drop-Off Services
On-campus drop-off services are available starting at 8:00 p.m. and will continue until the end of the night's service.
Off-Campus Drop-Off Services
Off-campus drop-offs will begin later, with service starting at 10:30 p.m. each night.
